Fire Extinguisher Installations
- Our
technical personnel will advise and supply you with the necessary fire
protection material so that your premises will fulfil all the requisites and
norms necessary, in particular the Royal Decree 1942/1993 On Fire Protection
Installations.
- The
fire extinguishers, characteristics and specifications, will conform to The
Regulations on Pressurized Equipment and Complementary Technical Instruction
MIE-AP5, and the revision of both in the BOE 28-04-98, (Official State
Bulletin).
- In
buildings, the basic norms for buildings will be applied NBE-CPI/96 as laid
out in the Royal Decree 2177/1996.
- At
Extintores Candela, S.L. we have any type of extinguisher to suit
your needs and the characteristics of your installations (types of fires,
extinguishing agent, efficiency, size, etc…)
Maintenance
We are a
firm authorized by the Council for Empoyment, Industry and Commerce with nº
03/55894, for maintenance, recharging and resealing of extinguishers and fire
protection systems of all types, brands and classes.
As laid
out by the Regulations for Fire Protection Installations, Royal Decree 1942/1993
of November 4, the owner of an extinguisher is obliged to have a maintenance
check for his extinguisher and/or BIE by an authorized firm as described
below:
EXTINGUISHERS
- Trimestrial
check which can be made in situ either
by the owner or a maintenance company. Extintores Candela, S.L. offers
the user the possibility to make the maintenance check at current rates,
refusing Extintores Candela, S.L. any resposability in the case the
maintenance check is not made.
- Annual
check of the extinguisher, consisting in checking the general state of the
apparatus, internal pressure and correct functioning of the same.
- From
the sealing date of the extinguisher and every 5 years (a total of 3 times
as an extinguisher has a life span of 20 years after which it must be
disposed), the extinguisher will be resealed according to the ITC-MIE5. This
resealing consists of testing the hydraulic pressure so as to check the
condition of the extinguisher’s receptacle .
- If
the extinguisher is used, even partially, it must be recharged by an
authorized company.
BIE’s
- Trimestrial
inspection with attention to correct instructions and markings, the
accessability, the general condition of the BIE and check on pressure and
nozzle.
- Annual
check consisting basically in dismounting and testing the hose, checking the
nozzle, the shuting off mechanism, the pressure gauge, the watertighness of
the coupling and the hose and the condition of the stoppers.
- Each
5 years the BIE’s hose must be
given a pressure check at 15Kg/cm2, in the case of hoses of synthetic
material of 45mm, and of 20Kg/cm2, and of the semi-ridgid hoses of 25mm.
- There
must be a replacement hose, completely fitted out for every circuit of up to
six BIE’s, and of two if more than six, and a “racord” joint for every
five of those existing in the installation.
Extintores
Candela, S. L. recommends to its clients to ask for identifying credentials to any
persons providing technical services.
